ADAPTIVE REDUCED PATHS SUCCESSIVE CANCELLATION LIST DECODING FOR POLAR CODES

Adaptive Reduced Path Successive Cancellation List (ARP-SCL) decoding for polar codes is proposed in this paper. The aim here to reduce the complexity of conventional (SCL) and a previously SCL (RP-SCL) decoders. reduction obtained at low moderate signal noise power ratio (SNR) regions. operation ARP-SCL decoder relied on calculation different optimum pruning parameters according operating SNR, while RP-SCL used single set. Simulation tests are carried out determine both Bit Error Rate (BER) performances comparison with Additive White Gaussian Noise (AWGN) channel two fading models simulating indoor 5G environment using millimeter Wave (mmWave) carrier frequency 28GHz having either 50 or 400 MHz bandwidths used. results revealed that reduced average processed paths up 46.88%. largest reductions case bandwidth high SNR In most test conditions, mentioned achieved without greatly sacrificing required BER.
